What is the cost?

Our counsellors are offered payment for their work, and we ask that you contribute to this as much as you are able to. We want counselling to be accessible to all: some are able to pay £40 per session, some pay a reduced rate, some are able to pay more than £40 to also support others to access counselling, and all receive the same service. If your circumstances change during counselling then please discuss with your counsellor paying a more appropriate amount. We also welcome donations towards our work here.

What happens in a counselling session?

A session lasts 50 minutes and is at the same time each week with the same counsellor. You will be in a room where you will not be disturbed, and where you are free to explore with your counsellor the issues that are troubling you.

What does it mean that this is a Christian counselling service?

It means that you are free to discuss issues around religion and spirituality if you choose to.
?There is no expectation that you should be or become a Christian.

Everything that you say in a counselling session is confidential between you and the counselling service. All counsellors have monthly clinical supervision from an external supervisor, but you will not be identified in these sessions. If there is significant risk to you or someone else, your counsellor will discuss with you the need to contact someone who can help. Examples of this are if there is immediate suicide risk, or if an abuser still has access to children. Information will not be passed on without your knowledge.
